Staying motivated when you’re sick

How many of you have struggled in trying to stay motivated when you’re sick?  Because I have a hilarious story – I got sick about two weeks ago.

Now I’m pretty confident everyone has a story that goes like this:

You’re trying really hard to undertake a new lifestyle change. Then, out of nowhere, your body decides that it really hates life.  Your perfect few days of clean eating and exercise goes out the door.  Your brain does a complete flip and you just get floored down with a sickness. It’s almost like, “you know what? Why don’t you have some side of illness alongside your salad?”

If you don’t know what I’m talking about – you suck at being like one of the 1% of the population I swear it doesn’t affect.

Sorry, let’s get back on topic.

Alas,  yes.   Rewind two weeks ago and I came down with a cold and sore throat. I didn’t think much of it. I work normally in a pretty germ-infested (gross, I know,) environment. So I figured that cold+flu and lozenges would be adequate to fight it.

I was wrong.

After having a heap of difficult breathing (yikes) and swallowing (not fun) over the weekend – took a trip to the doctors to find out I’ve developed a severe throat infection.
I’m going to promptly tell you now – it’s not fun in the slightest. But, on the bright side – does explain why my throat feels like there’s someone closing a trap door in the pipes every few minutes.

Admittedly, this revelation and a new course of antibiotics isn’t my greatest achievement in life. However  – I will say that I am super proud of myself that even though I’ve felt like rubbish for the last few weeks – my diet hasn’t been overly affected. I’ve been super good at tracking my calories, and only had two days really where I’ve kind of looked at my intake and went, “Hmm, yeah, probably should have made a wiser decision to be honest.”  – so I’m going to count that as a win.

Because this is a #MondayMotivation post – I’m going to leave you with a link to the best thing I’ve seen this week which hopefully will give you a happy warm fuzzy feeling here ♥
